It has been about 2 1/2 months since I started my “bonsai” trees from seed with a Tree Seed Kit from Amazon and I thought it would be a good idea to give a little update and show some progress pictures of my little tree seedlings.
If you just came across this post and haven’t read my previous post, please have a look:

The Bonsai Tree Seed Starter Kit came with seeds of 4 different kinds of trees. The starter kit includes everything that is needed to start growing your own “bonsai” trees from seed.

Black Spruce Seedlings
Here’s a look at my Black Spruce Seedlings at 2.5 months old. A total of 5 seeds have sprouted and all seedlings are doing well. The trees are slow-growing but if you compare this picture with the pictures from 1 month ago, you can clearly notice a difference.
You can see all the new bright green new growth in this picture. The seedlings are under a grow light for about 12 hours every day and are being watered once the soil gets dry.
Blue Spruce Seedlings
The Blue Spruce Seedlings seem to be growing a little slower than the Black Spruce Seedlings. It doesn’t appear to be much of a change from the previous months’ pictures.
Here is another close-up picture of the Spruce seedlings at 2 months old. A total of 7 seedlings have sprouted from the Bonsai Tree Seed kit. I planted about 10 seeds, so the germination rate is not too bad.
Loblolly Pine Seedlings
I think these are my favorite from the Bonsai Seed Kit. In the previous posts, only 4 Loblolly Pine seedlings had sprouted but a couple of weeks ago another one came up. I have a total of 5 Pine seedlings.
The Loblolly Pine seedlings have been growing very well. They are getting a lot taller and fuller compared to last month’s pictures.
Siberian Elm Seedlings
Unfortunately, even after more than 2 months, none of the Siberian Elm seeds have germinated. I planted something else in the pot but hoping something might still come up eventually.
If you would like to grow your own “Bonsai” Trees with the same seed kit, you can purchase it here on Amazon
Bonsai Tree Seed Kit – Next steps
Since they’ve been growing so well in their pots, I think it’s almost time to transplant them into their own pots. Some of the roots are already coming through at the bottom.
These trees also need to experience the different seasons, so I will be moving them outside once the cooler weather starts, most likely around October. Because they are so small, I will be putting them in a sheltered place away from the harsh winter weather and extreme cold temperatures.
I will probably post another update around that time with a few pictures, so stay tuned.
Thanks so much for reading, I hope you liked my Bonsai Seed Kit progress update.
